NSL and qinetiq awarded for galileo prs receiver
NSL and Qinetiq have won the BMVI Special Prize at the European Satellite Navigation Competion 2016 awards.
Selected by the German Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI), the GRIPPA solution implements the PRS on a mobile phone. The phone is fitted with a customised Galileo PRS sleeve with the signals processed server-side using the NSL-QINETIQ patented technique.
Recognised as the world's most commercially advanced solution for end-users, GRIPPA is perfectly suited for use by the police and emergency services and other high volume civilian users of Galileo PRS.
The Public Regulated Service (PRS) offered by Galileo, the European Satellite Navigation System, is the only encrypted navigation signal under civilian control, ensuring maximum protection against spoofing and advanced resistance against jamming. PRS can only be used by authorised agencies and users, such as governments, security authorities, emergency and rescue services within EU Member States.
